Save X posts

Paste a post link and keep the post on a page of its own.

Works with X (Twitter) links. Download gives you the files. Save keeps the whole post.

How do you save an X post?

To save an X post, copy the link to the post, paste it into the box above and press Save.

xsavr stores the text, the author, the thread the post belongs to and its own copy of the photos and videos. The saved post gets a page with a permanent address that you can share or open later. Because xsavr keeps its own copy of the media, the page keeps opening after the original post is deleted. The post has to be public when you save it. A saved post is public too, so anyone with its address can open it, and recent ones appear on the Saved posts page. Saving works without an account, and a Google sign-in adds a shelf for bookmarks and likes. To get the video, GIF or photo as a file, press Download.

Keep a post

  1. Copy the link

In the X app, tap the share icon under the post and choose Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the browser bar.

  2. Paste it above

Put the link in the box at the top of this page and press Save.

  3. Open your saved page

The post now has its own page. Copy its address to share it or come back later.

Links from x.com and twitter.com both work.

Which button do I press?

  • Videos

The first button is the largest size. Smaller ones follow when X stored them.

  • GIFs

A GIF downloads as the MP4 X stores, or as a .gif file with Download as GIF.

  • Photos

A photo saves as a JPG at its original size, bigger than the preview in your timeline.

Pasting a reply? The media from the post above it is listed too.

Download or Save?

Download

Take the files and go.

  • The files go straight to your device
  • xsavr stores nothing
  • No account needed

Save

Keep the whole post.

  • Text, author, thread and media stay together
  • A public page with its own reference number
  • Still opens after the original post is deleted

Saved posts are public, so save only what you are happy to see on a public page. The media belongs to whoever posted it.

Which links work

If a link gives no result, check it against this list.

Public posts. xsavr reads posts from public accounts. Posts from private accounts stay out of reach.

Posts that still exist. Once X removes a post, xsavr can no longer fetch it. A post you saved on xsavr first keeps opening.

Links to one post. Copy the link from the post itself, not from a profile. It contains /status/ and a long number.

Posts with media. Download needs a photo, video or GIF. For a post that is only text, press Save to keep it.

Regular posts. Save keeps regular posts and threads. Long-form articles are not supported yet.

Questions

Can I save a post that might get deleted?

Yes, as long as it is public when you save it. xsavr keeps its own copy of the media, so the saved page keeps opening if the original goes away.

What gets saved?

The text, the author, the thread the post belongs to and a copy of its photos and videos.

Do I need an account to save?

No. Saving and downloading both work without signing in. A Google sign-in adds a shelf where you can bookmark and like saved posts.

Can other people see a post I save?

Yes. A saved post is a public page with its own address, so anyone with the link can open it.

What is the difference between Save and Download?

Save keeps the whole post on a page. Download gives you the video, GIF or photo as a file on your device.

Which posts can I save?

Regular posts and threads from public accounts. Long-form articles are not supported yet.
