Iran on Purim (2026) Even before the operation on Venezuela began, Trump was building forces up in the middle east. He had declared Iran's nuclear program "destroyed" (even though it was not the case), but still insisted that he wanted more. He wanted it decommissioned (again?) and he wanted Iran to destroy its ballistic missile program. Something Iran would never ever do. Mark Levin, a rabid and psychotic Zionist, had been demanding the assassination of Khamenei, the leader of Iran, as a result of the so-called stalled negotiations. Levin did this continuously on his Twitter account and in private communication with Trump. All those who could provide negative reinforcement were either sidelined (e.g. Tucker Carlson) or out-right assassinated (like Charlie Kirk). Initially, Trump wanted something else from Iran. He wanted a "small attack" on Iran, to which he would invite an equally small retaliation. No one in the US explained the point of this, but it becomes clear when you consider the Salami tactic model. The US wanted a full scale war with Iran, but on its terms, with Iran on the back foot. It wanted to use gradualism to destroy Iran's defenses and will to fight. Iran wasn't having any of it. Khamenei signaled this simply to Trump: You fire so much as a bullet more on Iran and it will be a full scale war that no one could control. Trump was convinced by his advisors that this was a bluff, and went for the most violent option possible with JD Vance's encouragement: Assassinating Khamenei. An hour later, a conflict began that drew in all countries of the middle east and is threatening to destroy the entire economy of the world.
